What is the device called which, wirelessly allows internet access through a satellite link?

I'm told there's a device which can connect to a satellite, be connected to a computer, and the computer received an internet connection from the satellite. I'm not talking about hooking it to a cellphone or wifi. I'm talking about a device which would work like a satellite connection for your computer to allow internet access most everywhere you go. Even stuck in a boat in the middle of the atlantic you'd be able to connect to the internet with this device. What is it called? What is the device called which, wirelessly allows internet access through a satellite link?
It is likely an Inmarsat transciever. Probably not cheap or fast. What is the device called which, wirelessly allows internet access through a satellite link?
You just need the right modem just like you do for cable internet. I suppose you could call it a satellite modem. You also need a dish to get the signals to and from the satellilte. Other than the dish the connection is pretty much the same. The link below shows a satellite connection. What is the device called which, wirelessly allows internet access through a satellite link?
I think you mean a dongle.
