How do you get internet in your laptop through a wireless mobile?

I just got a laptop but my boyfriend said you can get internet through a mobile if it has internet and mine does. But I been trying to do it but I don't know how? And my boyfriend is in the military so he can't help me. Does anyone in here know how to do it or what I need? I have a at%26amp;t samsung mobile and it has unlimit.How do you get internet in your laptop through a wireless mobile?
