How does verizon wireless internet work and cost?

If you are connecting wirelessly try looking up your computer model and serial and re downloading your wifi driver. That might fix your problem. If everything thing else is working fine it should just be your driver.

I don't have a laptop... but I DO have a wireless Sprint card for my desktop. They charge me $70.00 a month. I had to enter into a 2 year contract. I think that it depends on which company you get the card from that will determine the price of the card. I got the card for free but was told if the card became damaged or if I terminated before my contract ended I would need to pay $400.00 I don't think that there would be a difference in price between a laptop or a desktop. Best advice is to call all of the different carriers and see what they have to offer you.

I lend my card to my friend who has a laptop...( it isn't a card my the way--It plugs into my USB port on my desktop.) He just needed to download the software that I had onto his laptop and was on the internet in a flash. NO routers were involved.. No modems--- nothing. Internet drops out repeatedly throughout the day?
My internet keeps dropping throughout the day. It only drops for about a minute and I just have to reconnect but it is very frusturating when im online gaming and I am forced offline. My laptop is only a few years old and now everything I run starts and stops working. Anything from Internet explorer to the side bar. When you get to the instalation window, you will see that you have a partition manager, just select the Windows partition, format it, and install new windows on it. Is there a way to solve enthalpy problems without the enthalpy of formation values?
I'm doing homework and there are a lot questions where I am supposed to calculate the standard enthalpy of formation using the formula "the sum of the products' enthalpy of formation - the sum of the reactants' enthalpy of formation" My problem is the chart I was given with enthalpies of formations of different substances is missing most of the substances I'm supposed to answer questions about.
Is there a way to solve these questions without knowing the specific enthalpies of formation of different substances? Or a way to figure out what the enthalpies are without being told in a chart?

On the test however, the teacher either lets you use the data list of enthalpy values, or she'll give the needed enthalpy values within the problem. What tests could Vodafone be doing ?
Our internet reset for the month on the 28th of January and on the 6th of February we had used up our 60 gig plan. This is strange because we've never hit our limit before and certainly not in 8 days. So we rung Vodafone (who is our ISP) and asked them about it, the male that we spoke with couldn't tell us why we used up the 60 gig so fast. He went on to tell us that he will put submit an application for our web history to be looked at and that he'll get back to us the next day. Its now the 13th of February and we have just spoken with Vodafone again, they said that they are still carrying out tests and that they cant restore us to full speed because it will interfere with the tests and that they will ring us back tomorrow. So my question is, What possible tests could they be carrying out ? and why the hell is it taking so long ??What tests could Vodafone be doing ?

My game systems wont connect to the internet?
My laptop is connecting to our wifi just fine,and my xbox picks it up with good signal,but it wont connect to the internet for some reason. It worked two days ago,but now it just suddenly wont. How to restrict access to the internet?
What I am trying to do is set up a schedule for when a person is allowed to access the internet. Currently the setup is cable internet through Motorola SURFboard and then routed through a D-Link DIR-655 and then the restricted computers access the internet through wireless.
Currently the router is set on a schedule to restrict access to the internet from 11pm to 6am based on the restricted computers mac addresses and this has been performing without problem.
However now one of the restricted computers that is a laptop has been going into the computer area and connecting directly to the modem by Ethernet bypassing the routers restrictions.
Is there any way I can lock the modem and router in a box perhaps? Or is there some way I can disable the Ethernet port on the laptop in way that cannot be bypassed? Any ideas would be helpful, right now locking it in a box seems like the only option but I know that's not good for the wireless signal.
The laptop is not owned by me, so I cant permanently damage it, nor can I put time limits on how it is used, I can only limit access to the internet.How to restrict access to the internet?
You have a physical access security issue, not a programming or logical one.
Obviously, you need to stop the person from connecting to the modem direct. Without a lock on the door, the only other way is to prevent the cable from being unplugged from the modem's ethernet jack.
1) Move the modem to a room where the person cannot get to it.
2) Make the cable connection permanent, like epoxy the plug into the jack on each end. However, that does make it permanent, and any broken wire will require a new modem and/or router.
3) Yes, you can lock the modem and router into a box, but to get wireless, you may have to put the antenna on the outside of the box (some routers have detachable antennas)
4) Take the laptop away from the person doing this stuff...
If I was in your scenario, and did not want to change much, I'd put the modem/router into a box, remove any antenna to limit the range, then put a "wireless client" router outside, to get the signal from the box, and put it out on wire only. I would then add a wireless access point to that, to give wireless signals to everyone. The issue is to secure the devices that have the security restrictions.
ie:
Internet -%26gt; box with modem/router -%26gt; weak wireless signal -%26gt; "Client Bridging" router next to box -%26gt; wired ethernet -%26gt; WAP (Wireless Access Point.
That would require a new router with proper "Client", WDS, or "Client Bridging" modes. With WDS mode, you would not require a WAP
Remember that any wireless repeating of signal may cut the user bandwidth by half, it will be slower...

I live with my boyfriend. He is 38 and i am 31. We both have been in this relationship for 2 years now but have moved in together for 5 months. I will be yearning for his touches and love and to spend time with me, but his concentration will all be diverted to the tv or his work. No one knows the real reason that my bf is not taking any initiative to even talk about this or to plan our future. Last night i could not sleep and i was using the net. I've been in a similar situation and it never gets better. Once a hitter always a hitter because once you condone him hitting you than he thinks/knows he can do it again and you'll still be there. He'll get use to treating you that way and you'll get used to it to and the vicious cycle will continue.

It's very ''teenage drama'' and cheesy and most people who are very into good classic movies (especially those who like horror and thrillers) will hate twilight and it's also very mainstream and a lot of people (like myself) just don't like the mainstream.

Emergency Clinics that operate on 24/7 can do blood tests cheaper than going to a doctor who must send out the blood sample and add extrta costs for profit.

nene, yes of course you can reset your gateway as well as your computer, most of the time that is all it takes. If you want to be absolutely sure it is not your computer failing you, reset in the correct sequence: First the computer, then the gateway - then restart your gateway and then your computer. The AT%26amp;T gateway takes up to 8 minutes to come back up again. you will see the green light for network, blinking. Now if that does not work, you have to consider to possibilities: either your network card (NIC card) is defective, or you will have to go into the property sheet of that card. You will have to go to system - device manager and look for the device, whatever it may be called. Once you are in device manager, and found the device, delete it, then go to top of box on the left you will see Action, click on it, then choose Scan for hardware changes. That should bring your device back on the list. If this does not work, you could always look for another driver on the web (update driver). if no change after that, most likely your device is defective, even though it does not say so. There is one more thing, but you would need to be familiar with computers before you do this, other hrwise you may just make things worse. Go to the property sheet of the network device, and se if you find anything out of order. the problem with this is that you most likely don't know what is right or wrong.

First I had a virus and I somehow got it off.
Then the screen was black with only a cursor.
But I got instructions on how to turn my computer normal.
I hit F8 until I was allowed to repair the system. And that's where this mess began
It asked what exactly my account was, and I put "Owner" instead of "administrator". (I belive my mother's computer is the administrator)
Now, no matter what I open, it will tell me I dont have permission.

I am on a computer course at the moment and since then...every one of my friends and people who I tell about this... have asked the same question...how do you completley wipe your internet history? Its a question I've always wondered as well, because I hear that even though you think you've deleted everything, there's always a trace of what you've been on somewhere. My usual answer is for Internet Explorer...Control Panel...Internet Options...etc...delete browsing files. However I am on
Google Chrome as are a lot of people I know and even though there is a way of clearing internet browsing history with a few clicks of a button, there is obviously still traces of the history stored on the computer which the average computer user can't see. Without getting too deep into codes and things like that, even with some high tech software that someone may download in
the future to catch you out...is there a way, of permanantley deleting/wiping your internet history so that no matter what, it cannot be found, even by a professional?

Hello, Today our internet is very slow. and our downloads or very slow. the internet went completely off today but we removed power and powered it back up and the internet was working. And but the internet was still slow. And I checked if there were any other devices that are unknown but there was none. My brother usually has very high number of open sessions. Like 100- 300. Its been over 500 sometimes. and so I was checking out ht router and I used the diagnostic test and here is what I got.
Test Results
Ethernet: PASS
DSL PHY: PASS
Encapsulation Type: ATM
Encapsulation Test: PASS
PPP Type: PPPoE
PPP Authentication: PASS
DNS Resolve: FAIL
DNS #1: FAIL
DNS #2: FAIL
And we have Actionect PK500
I also don't remember there being any
UPnP port things. But there are four. two on my brothers ip address and two on mine. one tcp and one udp for both.
Please. If you can think of anything wrong with it or settings or anything that might help please speak up. And if you need more information just tell me.

What do do if 2 low lifes are fallowing me on minecraft and on the internet skype and other things like my ip.?

its the file manager thats also the shell of your computer. whenever you open up my computer, my documents, my music, etc, youve just opened up explorer. its the application that lets you see your files on your computer and do whatever you want to them. on windows7 explorer is also the taskbar and desktop. its all under the explorer.exe process in task manager so if you end it, it will end the taskbar, kinda hide all of your desktop items and close any explorer windows(my computer my music etc) unless you added the taskbar and desktop to a separate explorer process, then ending one of them would either close all explorer windows or just the desktop and taskbar
Well, if you have a temporary server you can look for a firefox download, if you don't and have a mac, Safari is the one. Otherwise internet explorer is your only. Computers come with different servers so when a computer comes with one, thats the one you got.
