What can I use an alternative to Internet Explorer on a mac?

My work is giving out online payslips now and I need internet explorer to log into the payment site. I thought it would work in firefox anyway but no such luck. Apparently, internet explorer isn't available at all for macs now, not even the old versions. Do you have any suggestions? What can I use an alternative to Internet Explorer on a mac?
You can trick the server into thinking that you have IE. To do this, turn on Developer Mode under the Advanced tab in Safari's preferences. Then a Develop item will appear in the menu bar. Choose Develop %26gt; User Agent %26gt; Internet Explorer 7.0.

Many times this will work, but depending on the site's use of Active X, it may not perform like expected. If you are having issues, I would suggest going to http://www.codeweavers.com/products/cxma鈥?/a> . They have a app that allows you to run IE with Active X on your Mac, without running Windows. Crossover is $50, but IE and Active X are free downloads. What can I use an alternative to Internet Explorer on a mac?
