What gives 0bama the idea that the internet is his to nationalize? Last I heard it was a global phenomenon?

Communist 0bama has no right to attempt to nationalize the internet as the USA doesn't own the internet. It's like him claiming the Atlantic ocean or Mars. Not his to steal. What gives 0bama the idea that the internet is his to nationalize? Last I heard it was a global phenomenon?
He's not "nationalizing" it. Unless you mean the killswitch? I've read about the killswitch on various websites, including a Sydney, Australian paper and boy were they not happy. General concensus seems to be that it's more evidence that Americans are arrogant, and international citizens aren't happy about it.

But to me it's rather silly because Obama is the kind of guy most of them would VOTE for! So they lay the blame on "American arrogance" rather than a few politicians like Leiberman or Barack Obama.

If you mean the internet killswitch, then yeah...it's disgusting. It was disgusting when I thought it was just limited to the states, when I realized other people can be affected too I thought "wait, he can DO that?!?!?". It's because we have the ICC root servers or whatever in the U.S., correct?
You do realize that the biggest threat to National Security is through the Internet?

I bet you had no problem with Bush invading Iraq or Afghanistan. You don't seem to grasp the fact that Chinese programmers are constantly trying to hack Pentagon computers. You'll be done brown if the Chinese hack your bank's computers and make your cash disappear, or cut off the power supply, or Air Traffic Control.

Maybe you want that to happen, so that you'll REALLY have something to hate Obama for. The Pentagon recognizes that cyberwar is far more of a threat to the Western democracies than Osama, Iraq, and North Korea combined. If you don't like the security measures, get the f*** off the Internet. What gives 0bama the idea that the internet is his to nationalize? Last I heard it was a global phenomenon?
Comrade Obama wants to control the world...he has to start somewhere. Taking over private business, shaking down banks to take TARP money (my husband worked at one that was FORCED by the Government to take money), controlling the media...it's all in his master plan of world domination.

I would have thought someone was NUTS if I read this before Obama was the President...sad, because now I think it's a possibility.
If one gives cred to Al Bore's assertion that he invented the Internet it could be that as a Democrat, Obama thinks it belongs to their party. What gives 0bama the idea that the internet is his to nationalize? Last I heard it was a global phenomenon?
If it isn't locked up or under really tight security he'll take whatever he can get his grubby little paws on.

Just like a parasite.
Dear Sir,

Perhaps you are unaware that the Internet was invented by the federal government.

Love,

Everyone Else
He believes everything should be under federal control.
Actually it's private corporations who are trying to "steal" the internet.
Don鈥檛 give him any ideas about the Atlantic ocean or Mars.
that is true, however, this marxist is on steroids to consolidate his power before the dopes that elected him wake up ! http://the912project.com
0-bama is the truth... the light... the one. He is the Messiah.
Where can I find this information that he is nationalizing the world wide web? Please provide a link.
Obama is King of the world.
Your claim and premise to this question is as stupid as your rant.
He has to have the power to protect our industries in case China shuts down parts of it again.
He's not "nationalizing" anything. He's simply following Bush's lead and protecting us from terrorists by having the authority to shut down the internet during times of crisis or an emergency.

How do phone or internet signals coexist on one line?

I've wondered this for a long time...

What actually happens in the box that connects your house to the telephone line, and how, exactly, is it connected? Does one twist from the phone line's wiring intersect? Does the entire phone line pass through? Is there a separate line in the plastic housing for each house?

And if there isn't a separate line for each house, then how does the traffic get filtered and modified? Why couldn't you listen to someone else's call?

This also applies to Internet lines. How do phone or internet signals coexist on one line?
There is no magic in the box on the side of your house. It just provides a electrical connection between the telephone company's cable and your house wiring. It also functions as a distribution point for the wiring going to the individual rooms in your house and provides protection from lightning strikes that might ride on the copper wire. There is a separate paths for each telephone line back to the telephone central office for each line. That path maybe in the form of analog signal on copper wire in a cable containing 100's of wires or it maybe in the form of a dedicated channel on a digital facility that runs over either copper or fiber optic cable with 1000's over circuits. The DSL signal rides on the copper wire portion of the path in the form digital signal that is filtered out of the talk circuit by the filters in your telephone cords, but allowed to enter your DSL modem. DSL signal will originate in the central office on any copper connect or at the remote end of digital facility where the copper to your home begins. How do phone or internet signals coexist on one line?
It is actually very simple.

With advances in electronics, they figured out how to send much higher frequency signal over the telephone lines than was ever thought possible. They are then able to filter the different frequency bands and the low frequency signal goes to the telephone while the high frequency signal goes to the DSL modem.

%26gt;Why couldn't you listen to someone else's call%26lt;

The telephone companies switching system just routes the signal to you which is supposed to go to you.

  • What can I do to make the internet connection on my ipad work?

I have a wi-fi connection but it will not connect to the internet. It shows that i have a full signal but i try and use an application or safari and it says it is not connected to the internet. Thank you for the help. What can I do to make the internet connection on my ipad work?
You may need a password (look in your router from a computer that's connected). You may be trying to connect to a neighbor's wifi signal. You may need to put the iPad's MAC address into the router. Read the router manual and look in the router to see how the router is set up.

How do you rate internet speed and quality in Jeddah compared to other gulf countries?

Also, what is the best(and cheapest) ISP in Jeddah?I'm moving to Jeddah after 5 days, and any information related to internet using is appreciated.Shoukran.How do you rate internet speed and quality in Jeddah compared to other gulf countries?
OK, none above know the answers themselves.

Actually, the quality is fine. But the charges are higher than usual.

I too have been to Jeddah earlier. And lived there for an year.

Comparing to USA it is costly, many websites are blocked, but still I wouldn't say quality sucks.

Best I feel is the Mobily Wireless Connection 3Mbps , costing SR350 , that would be something around 100$.

But first time fee is around 350$, paid once only.

    I hope it helped.

Speeds till 15mbps are also available by Al-Hatif Company for around 250$ per months. How do you rate internet speed and quality in Jeddah compared to other gulf countries?
the quality %26amp; speed in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) is slow not very good for the user used to use the internt in the other countries because of the blocked pages policy user in the KSA and it used in some of other gulf countriesHow do you rate internet speed and quality in Jeddah compared to other gulf countries?

Sorry. I can't answer your whole question. But for Internet Speeds, I like to use the site

    http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/

It bases off of US locations, however, but depending on what webistes you access and if they're located in the US or not still might be helpful.
